Programme terms
Last reviewed: 1 May 2026 (draft — not legal-reviewed)
1. Who can join
The hackajob Ambassador Programme (the “Programme”) is open to anyone aged 18 or over who legally resides in the United Kingdom or the United States. India and other markets will be added later (status visible on the signup page).
You can't join if you are an employee or contractor of hackajob, or if you have been suspended from a previous hackajob programme for fraud or abuse.
2. How rewards work
You receive £500 (or the local equivalent — $500 in the US) when someone you referred via your unique link accepts a job offer through hackajob. The candidate also receives £500 / $500. We call this a “successful hire”.
Rewards are paid via Tremendous. After we approve the reward, Tremendous emails the recipient and they pick a payout rail (bank transfer, PayPal, gift card and others, depending on country).
There is no cap on how many people you can refer or how much you can earn through the Programme.
3. What counts as a successful hire
A referral becomes eligible for a reward only when:
- The candidate signed up to hackajob through your unique referral link, and
- The candidate accepted a job offer that originated through hackajob, and
- The candidate had not previously held an active hackajob account before clicking your link.
We use a 30-day attribution window from first click. If two ambassadors refer the same person, first-touch wins (whoever's link was clicked first).
4. Anti-fraud and clawbacks
We monitor every referral for fraud signals. Activity that may void a reward includes:
- Self-referrals (using your own link to refer yourself).
- Coordinated rings (multiple ambassador accounts sharing IPs, devices, or payout details to harvest rewards).
- Referring candidates who already have a hackajob account.
- Submitting false information at signup (name, country, eligibility).
We may pause, reject, or claw back any reward we reasonably believe was earned through fraud or abuse, including after payment. Repeat offenders will have their ambassador account suspended.
5. Tax
Rewards paid through this Programme are your personal income. You are responsible for declaring it to the relevant tax authority (HMRC in the UK, IRS in the US, etc.) and for any tax due. We don't withhold tax — the reward is paid in full to your account.
If you're unsure how to declare it, talk to an accountant. We can't give tax advice.
6. Modifications and termination
We may change these terms or end the Programme at any time. If we make a material change, we'll notify active ambassadors by email at least 14 days in advance. Continued participation after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
Rewards already earned at the time of a change or termination remain payable on the existing terms.
